The Amazon Rainforest is two to four degrees South of the equator. The Amazon basin is 1.7 billion acres of which the rainforest covers 1.4 billion acres. In this picture to the left, you can obviously tell the biggest threat of the ecosystem is deforestation. Brazil wants billions of dollars to fix up the problem of the deforestation. The agriculture industry is a major threat also, the soybean farming and cattle ranching are major causes of deforestation which threatens the rainforest.
